Bush due in court facing indecent assault charges

(CNS) UPDATED: The former speaker of the Cayman Islands parliament and West Bay MP, McKeeva Bush (WBW), has been charged with two counts of indecent assault and alternatively common assault in relation to an incident occurring at a Caribbean Tourism Organization cocktail event at the Ritz-Carlton resort last September. Police said he was due to appear in court this morning, 7 March. Check back to CNS later for more details.

Updated 2:42pm: Bush was reportedly brought to Summary Court earlier in the day before the police confirmed that he had been charged. CNS learned that he was represented by Dennis Brady during a brief hearing, where Greg Walcolm represented the crown. No charges were read to the former speaker and no details of the case were revealed. The case was adjourned until 21 March when Bush was bailed to return.
