Man shot multiple times in GT, one arrested

(CNS) Updated: A 39-year-old resident of George Town has been arrested in relation to the shooting on Eastern Avenue that happened shortly after 3:00am on Saturday, 14 September. After the incident, the police said that the victim was in serious but stable condition after being shot multiple times. Police officers on patrol heard shots fired in the vicinity of Eastern Avenue in George Town. When they arrived at the scene, the officers found a man on the ground outside a licensed premises who appeared to have received a number of bullet wounds to his body.    

EMS was contacted and the wounded man was transported to the hospital by ambulance. After the incident, the scene was cordoned and forensic evidence secured, the police said.

The suspect has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of an unlicensed firearm. He was taken to the detention centre, where he remains in custody.

The matter is currently under investigation by George Town CID and anyone with information is asked to contact 949-4222.

    Bars linked to crimes need to be shut down. This one bar on Eastern Avenue has had many serious crimes occur there or just outside.

    RCIPS patrols after midnight should consider activity to be suspicious. Why? Because nothing good happens after midnight.
