We never had all these accidents with the old road from GT to West Bay. Now that this new highway has been constructed it’s like a race track for all the boy racers!!
You are right about the boy racers including motor cyclists. They are a danger to the community. RCIP need be out 6 am each day to raise a lot of funds. Speed cameras would raise even more.
Several of us from West Bay still use the West Bay Road after the Kimpton as there is less stress going that route in spite of the continuous roads works of the past six years or more.
maybe time for a class action lawsuit against rcips for the their failure and negligence in non-enforcement of basic traffic code….
Poster @ 4:30 pm I guess you never read carefully! the van overturned as a result, so I guess the driver never had much options, but in any case not everyone will leave you for dead if they hit you
Still no proper bike lanes for most of the roads, no traffic separation bollards at roundabouts, nor proper pedestrian lighting – even within designated crosswalk zones in the Hotel Tourism Zone. How many more people will have to be injured, paralyzed, or killed by our inattentive drivers Mr. Hew? What is the magic number?
stop blaming the roads the roads are constant, any change has to be you.
should not be hard to figure out!
Poster was not blaming the roads, they were blaming the Minister. Logical, time-tested, safety improvements (honed from decades of road and pedestrian studies/fatalities around the world) aren’t happening here, despite the benefit of tragic hindsight. At some point, you have to look to the ineffectual Minister in charge (who had promised these things) and hold them to account.
Huh?
You learn reading comprehension at public school here?
Well, at least in this case the driver “stopped” after hitting the cyclist.
There are some decent people left in this world.
I have not seen a bike rider in bikes lanes ever. They ride on the road next to the lanes. Especially by the Kimpton.
Going northbound, the left lane is reserved for West Bay Road merge and Kimpton turnoff, the next lane is also reserved for left exit to old Indies Suites/Tikka Beach. So a cyclist heading north over the bridge must move over to the correct lane. NRA also fails to regularly road sweep nails, sand, rock, and broken glass debris from all of our roads – and that’s on them, not the law-abiding cyclists, who share a right to be given 3+ft of clearance from all other road users, even while ignoring a dirty cycle lane on the road. Look, indicate, and turn your steering wheel to grant them their space.
Nah. Bike riders need to keep their heads up whilst riding to watch out for vehicles. And ride in the Bike Lanes.
Nah you need some lessons in common decency.
Only because it’s hard to drive away when your vehicle has overturned.
