Man arrested after threatening baby
(CNS): A George Town man is currently in custody after a stand-off with armed police yesterday evening where he threatened to harm a baby, having already stabbed two women. Police were called to what they said was a domestic incident in Rock Hole on Monday at around 5:30pm. The man had reportedly assaulted two women known to him. When officers arrived, he was the porch of the home holding the baby and a knife threatening harm to the child if the police came near him. The RCIPS said that a trained police negotiator attempted to negotiate the release of the child.
But in the end the officers used a Taser to subdue the man, enabling the women and child to be taken to hospital, where they were treated for minor physical injuries. The man was arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill, assault and abduction, and was also seen by a doctor.
