(CNS): A female employee at the Everglo Restaurant and Bar in Bodden Town who was robbed as she was leaving to go home in the early morning hours of 29 September last year told a jury she was frightened when the man approached her and demanded her purse. She said he appeared to have a sharp object under his t-shirt and said, “Give me your purse. This is a robbery.”

As she gave evidence in the crown’s case against Dalton Benjamin Robinson Jr (21), the woman said that the man was trying to “scare and intimidate” her as he had a hand on what she believed was the weapon under his shirt.

After she handed over her bag, which contained some cash, to the assailant, she ran towards a nearby jerk stand to get help, she said.

Robinson was arrested soon afterwards and charged less than a week later with the robbery. He has denied the charges.

The case, which is presided over by Justice Carter, continues in Grand Court this week
