WB fire crew, trucks and kit move to sports complex
(CNS): The West Bay Fire Station operations are being temporarily relocated to the Ed Bush Sports Complex in order to facilitate work at the station over the next six weeks. Government officials said that the fire crew, their vehicles and equipment are being moved to the stadium and will be dispatched from there when responding to any call-outs. Extensive repairs will begin at the district sub-station on Monday 25 July. The Cayman Islands Fire Service is not expecting any impact on the response and the public can still call 911 in case of fire or any other emergency.
The need for work at the station was revealed during Finance Committee last month when Chief Fire Officer David Hails said there was mould at all the fire stations because the air conditioning units have not been replaced since Hurricane Ivan. At the time he had indicated that an assessment was underway to find out what was needed and said the repairs would begin as soon as possible.

Congrats to the fire service on some needed upgrades. Now could someone do somethimg to assist ems and get us out of the closets we live in at our stations.

Six week crash course in fitness.
For anonymous @ 8:30, to answer your question the reason why it wasn’t done under any of the acting Chiefs, is because they were all caymanian, we all know it takes someone from the US or UK to get anything done because our government don’t listen to caymanians.
And why is that? Guess!
Hot baller. Stop blowing hot air and making excuses. Look at all the Caymanians in senior posts in the Civil service. Someone must be listening to them.
Our Caymanians at the fire service need to step up. Stop complaining. Stop fighting one another.
Bless up the firemen! Thank you all
Thankfully we got a capable fire chief. Why didn’t all the acting chiefs get this work done.
Do they have as much mold there as the GT station?…..
