Two men assault elderly man aboard bus

(CNS): The police are appealing to members of the public to help them find two young men who assaulted a 71-year-old man on a bus on Sunday afternoon in West Bay. The man was riding a beige Toyota Hiace (a public bus) at around 2pm when he was punched by the two young men who were also on board the bus, but police said the motive for the attack was unclear.
Police said both of the assailants were of fair complexion; one was tall with short hair and was wearing a red shirt and khaki-colored pants; his friend was short and wore his hair in dreadlocks, and was wearing black shirt and pants.
After the assault the men got off the bus and boarded another one, but police learned they left that second bus near Leda’s Shop on Watercourse Road.
The victim was taken to West Bay Police Station. An ambulance was called and he was taken to hospital, where he was treated and released.
Officers investigating the case are asking anyone with information to call Sergeant Anthony Hill on 649-3999 or contact Crime Stoppers at 800-8477(TIPS).
The whole minibus system is a disgrace. Totally third world.
Govt now has to employ a few people just to sit in cars out at the Frank Sound junction just to make sure the drivers go all the way around the East End loop. When the monitors aren’t there no one goes around.
My sympathies to all who have to rely on this shambles for transport.

This is yet another reason why Government has to arrest this Minibus culture that is spawning here. The so called public transport is a joke and dangerous in more ways than one.
A property operated system would eliminate this third world system that is taking root here. It’s a crying shame that the Government does not take action before it is too late to do so.
