Cops round up suspect in 4 month old gun case
(CNS): A local man has been charged with possessing an imitation firearm following an incident at the beginning of the year in Bodden Town. The 33-year-old man reportedly evaded police during an operation on 20 January in Kitty Lane, when he was believed to be in possession of a gun. The man is expected to appear in court on 24 May to face a charge of possession of an imitation firearm with intent to resist arrest.
The police have not given any details about the case or why they were undertaking a raid at the time but the charge implies that officers have not recovered the weapon in question. Possession of an imitation weapon is not an offence unless there is intent to use what would be a fake firearm for a crime.
The charge is normally used in robbery cases where weapons are involved but where they have not been recovered or fired, preventing the authorities from proving possession of a functioning gun.
There seem to be an awful lot of “imitation” firearms here. If the police could run a bit faster they would catch the criminals and the real gun.
Wow so impressed with the police. They never give up.
