Duke and Duchess of Wessex

(CNS): The Earl and Countess of Wessex will visit the Cayman Islands on Sunday to attend a private event at the Central Caribbean Marine Institute on Little Cayman, where Prince Edward, the youngest of the Queen’s children, has been the patron since 2003. According to the official royal website, he and his wife, Sophie, will have dinner at the Southern Cross Club on Little Cayman. The couple will be on Grand Cayman Monday to attend a Duke of Edinburgh event and present the Gold Award to Lashonda Powell at Government House before they leave.

The countess is also expected to address 100 Women in Hedge Funds at the National Gallery before the awards.

This will be Prince Edward’s fifth trip to Cayman but it is the first time he has been accompanied by his wife. They will be flying into the Cayman Islands from Florida, where they are scheduled to attend a World Fellowship event.

Meanwhile, hopes for royal fans that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were coming to the Cayman Islands this year have been dashed. Previous reports in the British press that Prince William and his wife, Kate, were planning to include Cayman on their first royal tour of the region have proved unfounded.

Damn shame, I was hoping to get a surprise gong, but wont be on Island to receive it. Oh well, just have to pop in to the palace in London for some tiffin.

Please take the Duke to the so-called Barkers National Park that he opened to such fanfare the last time he was here.

While the royals frolic in these islands our two registered colonial mules are in the London signing away our lives and our children’s future. When are Caymanians going to wake UP! and stop being the donkey pulling this colonial chariot.

Nice to know you have a job! Proof that CIG is working for the people. Fancy title too! Doesn’t get much better than that!

Must suck to be too greedy to go independent and be responsible for yourselves.

Independence from prosperity and a private jet for Mac is what we’ll get.

Joking aside, it may be time for the people of Cayman to decide if they want to go it alone.

        • Anonymous says:

You forget that Cayman’s success was as a result of the Bahamas going independent. The financial industry will flee with the touch of a button, and all you will have is unfettered corrupt politicians crime and destruction of an entire community.

It’s called NRA planning. Great job NRA! Make everyone’s lives a misery for no good reason. Getting your revenge in early as we know this 3 week project will take 3 months and you will get slated from all corners.

      You need help.

        How so?
All represent legacies of terrorism and grotesque crimes against humanity.

Only difference is, one side happens to be White and Christian … yeah, the good and acceptable side, of course.
Interestingly, this same side has a million-fold superior bodycount compared to all others … combined.

Anyway, enough of that. Have your flag ready? Is little Suzie’s school uniform cleaned, pressed and ready to greet the nice royals?

        FOH.

        • Anonymous says:

Does FOH stand for Full Of Hate. Have a look at Africa right now…those boys are killing each other faster than any white man ever did. Oh and did I say kidnapping and selling young girls to older men as sex slaves…or are you going to blame that on the white people also. Prejudice is both ways…and this island is turning into a serious hateful place for anyone white especially expats…wow…get into the 21 century already.

Yep. Your mindset is a shining example of the product of a typical western education.

You are beyond help – but feel free to try again.

Tell us, from which domestic mine did Liz dig up her royal crown blood diamonds? What was the human cost of that extraction I wonder? In fact, in the eyes of those that matter, was the cost truly “human” at all? Was it (the mine) among those shut down by Margie in the ’80s?

            So many questions…

I have my Union Jack ready to welcome the British royals onto British soil. Hurrah! Hurrah! And thrice, hurrah!

(Bell sounds) The Chagos bingo card has been played, the first one in 2016. This triggers the “Caymankind supernova round”!

Either way, the George Foreman grill is secure and is yours as a prize to take away.
