Booze shop targeted by gunman
Discount Liquor Store, West Bay
(CNS): Staff at Discount Liquors store in Batabano Plaza, on Willie Farrington Drive, fled from an armed man on Saturday night as he attempted to rob the store and fired his gun. Just after 9:00pm Saturday, two employees of the shop, which is just a few hundred yards from the West Bay Police Station, heard a loud bang at the side glass door of the premises. They then saw a suspect removing broken glass and attempting to enter the store. The suspect threatened them with a gun, and they ran out of the shop. As they ran away they heard a loud explosion that sounded like a gunshot.
The suspect was was about 5’ 8”, wearing a dark jacket with a hoody covering his head, dark coloured gloves and black shoes. Police said Sunday that no one was physically injured and nothing appeared to have been stolen.
The matter is now being investigated by West Bay CID. Anyone who may have information about the attempted robbery is asked to contact WBPS at 949-3999 or Crime Stoppers at 800-8477(TIPS).
This sums up everything that is wrong with the RCIP as nobody has any fear of ever being caught AND prosecuted AND jailed for committing crimes.
Armed robbery pretty much next door to the police station. There you go!

Bad crime but This rum shop has helped destroyed a good area and many families.
And it was opened without the required Planning letters to residents.
Even tho we objected after it opened it was ignored by Planning.
And they say we still need more bars in Cayman.
What? How? Because they sell booze? Riiiiight, that’s the problem with West Bay.
