Cayman News Service(CNS): A police SUV was involved in a minor collision with another vehicle on Sunday evening in George Town. The police White Ford Explorer was headed to support another police unit that was responding to a call for service, the RCIPS said, but did not say if the vehicle was using sirens and lights or whose fault the collision was. The explorer involved in the crash was actually aa newer model 2011 and up, unmarked also, but I assume they had their lights and sirens on….

I hate to be pedantic but the expression is ‘en route’

    CNS: Thanks! I missed that.

I suppose it is technically impossible to arrest yourself for careless driving?.

I doubt it was the Marine Unit driving their own vehicle. The senior officers are always commandeering the vehicles for land based officers, who mash up the vehicles. Probably OSU or USG officers driving it again.

That will probably mean that the MU officers won’t have any vehicles for personnel or vessel transportation and response again, as always.

Just like when they bought two trucks for the MU but sent them to CYB and LYC.
MU equipment and budget getting used again.

Having nearly been run over by the grey Chevy police SUV whilst jogging this comes as no surprise. The office that nearly ran me over was on his cell phone and not wearing a seat belt… Needless to say, he picked up some 10lb cuss words.

RCIPS should try leading by example.

Who gave this police his/her drivers license?…

I hope the driver of the Hilux AND the police officer driving the SUV were breathalized.
