Cayman News Service(CNS): Burglars made off with a fax machine, lap top, phone and other items after two separate school break-ins this week. Police said that teachers and staff discovered the break-in at Savannah Primary School on Sunday 30 August after the premises had been secured the night before following a uniform sale ahead of the new school year this week. A laptop and phone was reported missing from that school. Yesterday morning, 1 September, another burglary was reported at George Town Primary School.

At about 8am officers responded to a report that the administrative office had been broken into and a fax machine valued at CI$250 and several other items had been stolen.  Both scenes were processed by scenes of crime officers and CID is investigating.

Anyone with information regarding these incidents is encouraged to call George Town CID at 949-4222 or Crime Stoppers at 800-8477(TIPS).

Surely RCIPS must be aware that all sorts of maintenance crews have been working at the schools over the past couple months. Many eyes to see what is inside and where. Follow the trail.

On the one hand these punks trying to screw up the education system, on the other hand Tara trying to make it even worse…I suspect that shortly Caymanians will become the refugees to the US or UK…

Nothing is being done about crime of any nature; from speeders to robbers to rapists. We typically just catch and release on bail and usually in time we don’t have enough evidence to convict so we let them go and the cycle starts all over again. Welcome to Cayman, we greet you with a smile and steal your wallet when you’re not looking; have some coconut water because this is truly paradise.

Here’s a tip for police, the person who took the fax machine is obviously someone interested in antiques.

Very sad that school officials have to deal with these frustrations at the beginning of a new term when they should be putting all of their collective energy into welcoming the children and getting off to a positive start. We really need to get this burglary problem under control.
