Jeffrey Webb

(CNS): Jeffrey Webb has secured his US$10 million bail bond with 11 luxury watches, his wife’s jewellery, including her wedding ring, three high-end cars and 10 properties, according to US press reports. The details have been revealed in an order filed in a Brooklyn court on Monday setting out Webb’s bail terms. The former FIFA vice president used Rolexes, a Cartier Roadster and other designer timepieces, including a Hublot, which is expected to be handed over to the FBI by 3 August, two weeks ahead of Webb’s next court appearance on 17 August.

The other pricey watches were listed as a Breitling, Panerai, Royal Oak Offshore and Luminor Marina. Webb also put up a 2015 Ferrari and 2014 Range Rover in the name of his wife, Dr Kendra Gamble-Webb, a 2003 Mercedes-Benz in his own name, and a 401K account also in his wife’s name. In addition Gamble-Webb handed over her diamond wedding ring, a diamond bracelet, a diamond and pearl necklace, one pair of pearl earrings and one pair of long-hanging diamond earrings, as well as two more designer watches, including another Rolex and a Hublot.

CNS has posted a poor copy of the order below, which shows that Gamble-Webb has also put up her equity interest in a company and the couple have also secured the bond with ten properties.

Webb made his first appearance in a Brooklyn court Saturday and after pleading not guilty to all charges he was released from custody on the basis of the $10 million bond and placed under house arrest. He is required to stay away from all FIFA and former FIFA officials and has also surrendered his British and Caymanian passports. He is wearing an electronic monitor, which he has paid for, and is staying at a residence that is within a twenty-mile radius of the US district courthouse.

Arguably the most famous Caymanian in the world, Webb was arrested on 27 May in Zürich based on allegations made by the US authorities that he was involved in a massive $150 million FIFA racketeering and bribery scandal. The US Department of Justice, the FBI and the IRS revealed the investigation shortly after the arrest in Switzerland of Webb and six others embroiled in the scandal. He was the first of the seven to agree to the extradition and arrived in the US last Thursday.

Since his arrest, Webb has also been charged in an unrelated criminal case in Cayman. The director of public prosecutions has stated that the office is seeking to extradite Webb back home to answer allegations of fraud and breach of trust in relation to a government hospital contract for a card payment system that was awarded to a company Webb is allegedly connected to.

The former HSA board chairman, Canover Watson, and his former PA, Miriam Rodriguez, have also been charged in the local CarePay fraud case and they are currently due to stand trial in November, having already pleaded not guilty to earlier charges.

Looks like Jeff just got his first lesson in which is more important, his freedom or 10 million worth of luxury property.

Why is this so surprising? Hard to put up actual cash if it has all been hidden away in layers of shell companies. If you accessed the shell company to get the money you are essentially confirming to the authorities that the money is yours. Hard to claim no knowledge or ownership of the structures after.

And that is how the Caymans got rich . . .

So funny that every bad thing that happens to a Caymanian or in Cayman automatically becomes a Caymanian thing and all Caymanians are dragged through the mud. Then even more funny is that all those haters choose to live here and as far as am concerned if Caymanians are so horrible and this little rock is too hard and everything is so corrupt, why live here? Go where there is no crime, corruption, bad people and avoid all that is distasteful here, however, my advice, don’t go to Jamaica, Honduras, Trinidad, Canada, America, England or any other part of the Caribbean, North, South or Central America, Europe, China, India, Africa or Austrilia. Can I suggest you go all the way to Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, oh man, u have so many other places you could go.

I agree, you do sound a little stupid.

Get real. It’s a news site. Jeff Webb is news. That’s why there is an article about him and his deeds (SMH).

You have my sympathy. It must be very difficult and confusing being you.

CNS how dare you suggest that Jeff Webb is possibly more famous than the West Bay leader Keke Bush!

What, no Parmigiani? Now you know he never gave that back.

  10. Knot S Smart says:

Cant we just send up a Jury from Cayman to judge his case?

  11. Anonymous says:

How utterly seedy is that ? Did he declare these watches for import duty when he obtained them and returned to the CI?

  12. Anonymous says:

Let’s put this story and those assets in context – before Webb was elected as FIFA VP and CONCACAF President on 23 May 2012 (that’s only three years ago) he was a Business Development Manager at Fidelity Bank, part owner in the Captain’s Bakery and CIFA President.

So this all represents a pretty impressive lifestyle upgrade over such a short period. What are we expected to think he did to get it – win the lottery?

  13. Anonymous says:

Why don’t you all go get a life, and stop posting Shit. You all sound like a bunch of idiots !!

  14. Anonymous says:

Good way of finding out what people are really worth and possibly an indication of guilt unless there is a damn good explanation where it all came from. Now why did such high bail terms not apply to our own?? We might have found out a lot more…

  15. Easy dough says:

I think he is innocent. Captain Bakery bakes a whole lot of dough and every customer has to demand their receipts from the cashiers to ensure that none of his dough is shared. That is why he is so dam rich.

  16. Anonymous says:

How is easy is to “kill” the man by posting nasty comments. He brought thousand of dollars to the CI with many tournaments over the last few years. He helped many on the community. Until he is prove to be gilty he has all my respect.

    • Cass says:

uh huh. So what exactly did he do for Cayman? Where is the proof? Notice the million dollar field by Prospect Primary is a marl pit! Cannot get the grass to grow! Thanks Jeff…..for nothing.

Saw the family pic of his wedding, din’t realise he was related to so many senior, few retired, civil servants.

By the way, the poor family members suffering because he is need to remember ‘live by the sword die by the sword’ that is what you live by and do to get ahead can, usually is, the cause of your demise as well.

IF he gets off it doesn’t mean there was no ‘wrong doing’ or questionable behaviour and those who hated on politicians and others in the community for their crimes, be it low level crime or white collar variety, need to remember everyone then should be given the benefit of a trail and regardless of the verdict, accept it……… especially if you really believe most verdicts are based on justice.

Personally, I believe usually a good defence team is what gets a person off, guilty or not.

    • Anonymous says:

You jealous that he deliberately left you off the wedding list. You sound as if you were disappointed. Sorry you not rich enough!!!

      • Anonymous says:

Not jealous at all and so rich didn’t need to join a scandalous association to make me feel I had made it. Hope you all still feel rich and not mere tokens, trying to be who you are not impressing people you don’t like but want to emulate, sad really.

The FBI and USDOJ is looking at, or into, some of the same information as the Cayman public. So, what’s you’re gripe?

“Free Press, Free Speech”…otherwise, go find a local Politician or Attorney to enforce sensorship/a court ordered gag.

Webb’s business has been international news since May 27th, 2015, and court of public opinion is in full force.

        So, have a seat!
