Webb agrees to US extradition
Jeff Webb, has agreed to extradition to the US to face racketeering charges
(CNS): The former local football boss, Jeffrey Webb (50), has agreed to be extradited to the US, according to international media reports. A number of leading news agency have reported that Webb who is currently being detained in a Swiss Jail is willing to go to the United States and answer the allegations against him in the massive FIFA racketeering probe. This means Webb could appear before a New York court within a matter of days.
Webb, the former president of the Central and North American Football Federation (CONCACAF) and FIFA vice president, was arrested in Zürich on 27 May along with six other FIFA officials caught up in a US investigation spanning more than twenty years, which alleges FIFA executives took bribes and kickbacks amounting to over $150 million in relation to sports tournaments and marketing rights from various sports companies.
Webb appears to be the first of the men arrested in Switzerland to agree to go to the United States and answer the charges.
The Federal Office of Justice (FOJ) in Switzerland has confirmed that one of the seven men detained by the authorities there agreed Thursday at a Zürich court hearing to the extradition but the office has not named the individual. The FOJ approved the extradition immediately and as a result Webb could be handed over to American law enforcement authorities in less than ten days.
The Cayman Islands had also started an extradition request to the Swiss authorities following charges laid against Webb last week in an unrelated local corruption case. Webb was charged alongside Canover Watson and Miriam Rodrigues in relation to an $11 million contract for a card payment system at the hospital, knows as the CarePay case.

Agreeing to the US extradiction order is better than trying to evade the law. It won’t be an easy judicial process with US Authorities, but a truthful testimony of the corrupt FIFA Enterprise and the role he played in its operations. I believe that he will fair better with a plea deal, by helping the USDOJ in exchange for a lesser sentence.
It’s unfortunate that bribery is a “soft” offense and disguising the origin of proceeds/profits in Cayman, as with other Countries, is an accepted norm- until some individual or organization challenges its unfairness and legality, once they are economically disadvantaged.
Again, Mr. Webb, aided by his legal advisor, will seek the best possible deal for reduced penalties, since it is expected that his crimes won’t go unpunished.
I don’t know him personally, but I hope that he will learn from his mistakes, and be able to start life afresh once he has served his sentence.
LOL, he’s going to have to cut a really good deal to avoid staying in a US jail well beyond normal retirement age. Even then the CarePay charges will still be on the books when he returns here. As for learning from his mistakes? You could be right there but bear in mind the only real mistake he made was getting caught.

Why don’t you volunteer to mentor young men of the Cayman Islands That are shooting and killing one another off every weekend. I have mentored kids and adults for 20 years when there was no guns and no bad influence from the out side , and they all turned out to be good citizens. I think that today the problems are too big , if Government/Police do not clean up the crime for me to come back and waste my time on mentoring. As it stands he is still President, albeit he is suspended from all football activities by FIFA. He is not up for re-election, so no-one can stand against him, CIFA’s remaining executive committee members do not have the power to remove him and the 2/3rd’s majority of association members required to call an EGM to remove him will never get it together.

7:19, you are a complete idiot. There are 100+ pages of his indictment that will give you a clear picture of his guilt. The FBI does not go to the lengths they have gone unless there will be a conviction. The only question is how much Jeff is willing to spill to get his time in a US Federal Prison reduced, so he can then come back here, and deal with his other charges.

I have read quite a bit of the indictment (which btw is not all about mr Webb) and from what I can see most of the money in question was NOT through his accounts. Actually the indictment looks to me like a very good basis for a plea bargain deal. Basically, rat out everyone else involved and you might be allowed to keep some of the money and the house. What is really impressive is how hard the feds got him by the short hairs before dropping the hammer – RCIPS could learn a lot from this.
Unfortunately Jeff won’t get that methinks, there’s another guy, Chuck Blazer, who scooped up that deal when the Warner got caught. And if you buy property with the illegal proceeds on US soil, you don’t get to keep anything, the US Govt. does.

For your information Cayman did not file for Mr. Webb to be extradited back to the Cayman Islands. Check the Zurich authorities and the FBI of the United States of America. Tthat was only a sham on the Cayman Islands part. When you find the papers that Cayman Islands had file for extradition please PRINT so the whole world can see.

To 7:55, the article says Webb 50 has agreed to be extradited to the US , not his Attorney. In the case of extradition the Swiss has a extradition treaty with the United States, in this case the Swiss courts tells Webb if he has to go or stay, because of what is in this treaty that they the Swiss Government has signed with the United States. You may disagree with my comment, but you can’t help him now.
