Water Authority upgrading BT main pipe
(CNS): Bodden Towners will be faced with traffic snarl-ups and diversions next week as the government’s water company starts work on replacing the water main along Bodden Town Road Monday. The Water Authority said the planned works were essential to upgrade the water infrastructure in the area to better serve customers in the district. Affected residences and businesses will be connected to a temporary service line, officials said, which is expected to minimize interruptions in service while the pipeline project is underway.
The first phase will affect Bodden Town Road from the Cemetery to Gun Square Road and is expected to take approximately two months to complete. Portions of Bodden Town Road will be closed from 9:00am to 4:00pm daily, allowing local access only. All other traffic will be diverted around the work area via Anton Bodden Drive.
“Traffic signs will be posted in the general vicinity and all motorists are asked to drive with caution to ensure their own safety as well as that of the Water Authority staff,” the WA said in a release. “The Water Authority appreciates the patience and understanding of its valuable customers as it upgrades its water infrastructure to better serve you, and apologises for any inconvenience this may cause.”
