Orchids in bloom at annual show

(CNS): The Botanic Park in Frank Sound is encouraging the community to come out for the Annual Orchid Show and Fundraiser at the end of this month to enjoy the joint event and fundraiser for both the park and the Cayman Islands Orchid Society. The show is an exhibition of locally grown orchids and a plant sale of specially imported orchids, both blooming and non-blooming plants.

Organisers said the proceeds from the show will go toward the ongoing development of the orchid boardwalk in the Botanic Park. As it is a fundraiser, regular admission rates will apply to all visitors even those coming just to buy, and officials encouraged everyone to enjoy a trip around the park as well as the orchids.

Admission to the Botanic Park, which includes admission to the Orchid Show, is US $10.00 (CI $8.00), children 12 and younger can enter free with parent.
