West Bay man charged over loaded gun
(CNS): A 21-year-old man from West Bay has been charged with possessing an unlicensed handgun and three rounds of ammunition following a police stop check in the district in the early hours of Saturday morning. RCIPS officers seized the gun and ammunition and arrested Justin Ebanks on Birch Tree Hill Road at around 1am on 30 January. He has since been charged and appeared in court Monday when he was remanded in custody.
This is the first firearms case for 2016. Police have not yet revealed if they suspect the weapon has been used in any previous crimes.
Imagine how quickly the RCIPS could recover crime weapons and disarm the resident gang population if there were more routine and strategic traffic policy. Sunday nights there are lawless imbeciles drag racing and wheelie-ing up and down the bypass from around 5pm until an hour after dusk. Very few plates, lots of tint, plenty of danger and shrill exhaust notes. Most of Cayman can set their watches to these rituals but sadly the RCIPS are never deployed into the community long enough to observe these basic patterns of behavior. There can’t be anyone watching the CCTV cameras either. I’d bet my lunch money there are drugs on most of these guys, and probably a fair share of weapons.
That’s called stereotype.
How can drag racing in cars or on bikes with dark tint give you the impression that they are drugs and weapons on hand?
Also i’m certain that if this is indeed true that the police are aware of this happening everyday at 5pm as you stated. Just because you don’t see them doing anything doesnt mean they are not.
These rituals as you called them could be young men breaking the law by riding fast and racing for which they might see it as ‘having fun’ but it doesn’t suggest they have drugs or weapons on them.
Next time do the community a favor and call the police instead of driving pass it everyday.
Nasty person.
Nasty person??? Is that your signature or your description? What kind of nut are you?
I see no problem with stereotyping. If people want to portray themselves the way criminals do by wearing saggy clothing and driving tinted and dropped cars, let them suffer the consequences.
Whenever I see that kind of behavior, I assume that the individual is trouble. DO NOT PRETEND that I am the only one.
Stereotype or efficient use of resources? I consider it the latter.
I’m going to take a wild guess and say your son/brother is amounts the group of outlaw riders…
@ 2:07pm What bypass are you talking about?
