Police issue warning about tool thieves
(CNS): Several thousands of dollars worth of power tools have gone missing from various locations around Grand Cayman, police have warned and are asking members of the public to be cautious when purchasing secondhand goods and to inform police of anyone selling sizable quantities of used tools. A number of reports were made over the last week or so, including thefts from five locked containers in the Industrial Park area (off Sparky’s Drive), where various tools were stolen over this past weekend and from a location on Hirst Road in Bodden Town on Sunday.
Police said that power saws, drills, tile cutters, a jack hammer and other items have been taken, many of which were made by either Bosch or Makita. They urged the public to be cautious when purchasing secondhand items and to contact them with any information about people selling what could be stolen goods.

SO many of our tools were stolen at the Kimpton as well. These people here have sticky fingers so be careful who you lend stuff to and keep your tools locked up at all times while on any job site.

They were not laid off, their contracts would be completed. You expected them to keep working AFTER the hotel was done? And there is no evidence to sustain a correlation between this project being completed and this theft. Common sense really isn’t so common.
