Police seek man accused of sexual assault on bus

| 11/12/2024 | 26 Comments

(CNS): Police are asking the public to help them find an unidentified man accused of indecently assaulting a woman aboard a public bus on Saturday morning. The man was described as about 6ft tall, with a dark brown complexion and wearing construction clothes. He was travelling on a bus headed to West Bay from George Town at about 6:30am when he sat next to the woman.

The RCIPS said that the woman reported being harassed by the man during the trip who, besides making advances, touched her inappropriately on her arms, legs and chest. Officers have not yet found the suspect, despite efforts to locate the man after the incident was reported later that same morning.

Anyone who thinks they can identify or locate the man believed to have committed the assault or has experienced a similar incident is asked to call the West Bay Police Station at 949-3999. Anonymous tips can also be provided to the RCIPS Confidential Tip Line at 949-7777 or the website.

Wow. The description really narrows down potential suspects. “about 6ft tall, with a dark brown complexion and wearing construction clothes”. That puts every dude at the Hyatt site in the lineup. Plus every dude at every other construction site on island. Shit, remove the “wearing construction clothes” and I’m in there too! Clearly, if the guy was riding public transport and “wearing construction clothes” the nationality of the suspect is obvious. And no, I’m not anti-Jamaican, I’m just pointing out the obvious here. I’m feed up with this type of behavior, particularly from black foreign labourers because they paint all black Caribbean men on this island as potential sexual assaulters and rapists. Sorry, not sorry, it needs to be said. I’m sick of being feared in my own country because these simpletons are seen by many expats as “Locals”.

My condolences to the victim. I’d castrate the perpetrator myself if it wasn’t a crime in itself.

Amén. I’m tired of wondering if I’m being looked at as a threat because of creeps like him.

Before my work permit for a professional (certified and licensed) position in Cayman was approved, I had to provide a FBI clearance report and a letter from the professional Board certifying I am fully compliant with all relevant rules, regulations, and ethical standards. I am a female from the US.
What kind of guarantees the work permit holders from India, Jamaica, Philippines, Nepal etc. must provide?
Are the rules different for the work permit seekers from the developing countries?

First clue to finding him might be where he got off the bus as it will be next to his place of work.

@ 11/12/2024 at 3:48 pm FACTS! These construction guys from Jamaica are mostly uneducated scumbags. We let them into our country, they impregnate anything with a pulse and end up staying here FOREVER! Expats see them as “Locals” but they are not!! Enough is enough!
