Bigamist pilot gets greenlight to fly ahead of sentence
(CNS): William Gonzales Bodden, a Caymanian pilot who has pleaded guilty to bigamy, was given permission to travel outside this jurisdiction after the court agreed to a variation in his bail conditions last week. The crown objected because the pilot is based in Florida, where he married a colleague earlier this year despite still being married to his Caymanian wife, whom he wed in 2012 and with whom he has a daughter. But Bodden has placed a $250,000 bond with the court ahead of his sentencing in January.
Bodden, who flies for Breeze Airways, was allowed to return to the US in order to keep his job and resume international travel. His defence attorney argued that he would lose the job if he did not return and would have no means of supporting either of his families, as his ‘unlawful’ wife also has two children with him. Although prosecutors argued that he is a clear flight risk, his defence lawyer pointed out that people convicted of bigamy are rarely sent to jail.
Bodden has admitted the charge, but prosecutors have nevertheless accused him of “watering down” his admissions in the plea agreement and said that further criminality would be presented at the sentencing hearing.
But In another twist, the court heard that, before he married the second woman, they were living in Dubai because Bodden was working for Flydubai Airlines at the time. While they were in the Middle East, this woman became pregnant.
The laws in Dubai require a woman to be married in such circumstances, so initially, he arranged for her to marry his cousin. After that, they moved to Florida and the woman, who had a second child with Bodden, divorced his cousin and married him earlier this year.
However, he had not divorced his Caymanian wife. Although he claimed he was separated from his wife of twelve years, she was, in fact, making arrangements to move to Florida with their daughter. But during the process of making the immigration arrangements, she inadvertently learned of her husband’s new wife and two children. As a result, she informed the Cayman authorities, after which Bodden was arrested and charged.

Leave the poor guy alone
You all are focusing on the wrong thing here. Why are more people not questioning the fact that a man arrested for drugging a young woman and raping her was granted bail while this man was initially denied bail for, let’s get real, basically cheating in his wife?
If he wasn’t coward, but converted and brought both wives to Cayman. then couldà been our first Chicken Sheik.
Did he take both wives with him?
Some Boddens lead a charmed life in Cayman for example our first National Hero was one, despite almost completely destroying a National Heritage site in a fit of pique.
Cayman # beproud.
I know this man,and to be honest, I wasn’t surprised by it based on his character with the opposite sex.
Typical Caymanian male. Protect your own!
Did he convert to Muslim faith? They are allowed 4 wives.
First, no, otherwise he wouldnt have had to get his cousin to marry his girlfriend. Second, under Islam you can marry 4 women – but thats a religious dispensation. Only valid in countries applying Islamic law – not Cayman.
Only 4.2725 wives/male allowed in Cayman – we are a very devout rock in the sea!
Can’t men on island treat their relationships with a wee bit more seriousness than a temporary lease agreement ?
“Bigamist Pilot, Deadbeat Dads, and the Serial Babymakers: Cayman’s Comedy of Errors”
Welcome back to the Cayman Chronicles, where truth is often stranger—and funnier—than fiction.
While William Gonzales Bodden, our high-flying, double-marrying, Dubai-plotting pilot, has certainly taken absurdity to new heights, let’s not forget his terrestrial comrades in irresponsibility: the deadbeat dads and their close cousins, the serial babymakers.
These gentlemen have turned dodging responsibility into an art form, proving that fatherhood, for them, is less about commitment and more about conquest.
Picture this: a man, enamored by the girlfriend of the moment, fathering a child as if it were a casual hobby, only to lose interest the second she starts showing.
But fear not! He’s already moved on to the next “model,” leaving his pregnant girlfriend in the dust to start the cycle anew.
No vows, no accountability, just a trail of heartbreak and unpaid child support stretching across the island like a sordid breadcrumb trail.
This revolving door of fatherhood has become so common, it’s practically a Caymanian tradition.
We might as well celebrate it with an annual event: the “Father’s Day of Shame Parade,” featuring floats of unpaid bills, crying children, and exhausted single mothers trying to wave while holding down three jobs. Grand Marshal?
William Gonzales Bodden, of course, piloting a plane-shaped float and dropping confetti shaped like DNA tests.
These men deserve their own public service announcement, complete with a catchy tagline:
• “Think Before You Father: Children Are Forever, But Your Excuses Are Getting
• “Wrap It or Support It.”
• “New Model, Old Obligations: You Can’t Escape DNA.”
For those who see these men as harmless charmers, let’s be clear: their actions are not just irresponsible, they’re expensive.
They leave behind not only emotional wreckage but also a financial burden on the mothers they abandon—and, ultimately, on society as a whole.
Who ends up footing the bill? The mothers, the courts, and the taxpayers. It’s a Ponzi scheme of paternity, and Cayman deserves better.
Perhaps the Ministry of Fertility Control and Padded Rooms can introduce an additional program specifically for these wandering Lotharios: “Serial Fatherhood Detox.” It would include:
• “Commitment Phobia Counseling: It’s Not Just About You”
• “Budgeting for the Babies You Forgot”
• “A Beginner’s Guide to Marriage—or At Least Staying for the Ultrasound”
And while we’re at it, let’s propose a legal update: a progressive fee on baby daddies. The more children you father without supporting them, the higher your fee. Call it the “Rolling Stone Fee” because if you’re going to roll from one relationship to the next, it might as well benefit the children you’re leaving behind.
As we tie this all together, let us rally under the Adeptus Ridiculous banner once more: “For Cayman. For Justice. For Stopping the Serial Babymakers!” Because whether they’re flying at 30,000 feet or slinking through town, responsibility should never be optional.
I don’t know Mr. Bodden or any of his wives. However, your message is skewed considering Mr. Bodden is married to both women before the children came which is the correct way. Men marry for the right reason but how many women aka the wife has reneged on their vows? How many husbands are lonely, how many men are deprived of intimacy, how many men are abused emotionally and physically abused by their wives and how many husbands are taken for granted? Until you walk in a man’s shoe, please don’t judge. I’m not referring to the little boys that go around impregnating women to show their manhood. I’m referring to the real men who were fooled by the women who made a lot of promises that they never intended to keep.
He has fathered more children than the ones he have with his wives.
WTF are you cackling about? Please make sense.
How about let’s give them a vasectomy for non payment of child support. I bet they will support their children then.
how about women not sleep with people they barely know or men who come with drama?Isn’t it funny how women can’t take accountability for their own actions ehh…..
¿Por que no los dos?
ah the infamous chatgpt supported poster based out of Dubai. Welcome back to the forum!
Won’t the US arrest him when he gets there? Are bigamy and seemingly defrauding US immigration not crimes there?
If neither Cayman nor the US wants to jail him even after a conviction, perhaps he can be sent to Dubai?
Why are you so intent on jailing him? You got something personal against him?
Yes. If he is a bigamist.
More than one spouse? The man should have pled insanity.
Yup, two wives equals two mothers-in-law 🙂
I have one mother-in-law and don’t know how this guy would be able to deal with two? To all the men who are considering marrying, please beware……they are a special breed and worst if they come with a history!!
Can’t live with them and can’t live without them 🤪🤪🤪
can’t bury them in the back yard
If this was a gay marriage arrangement we would have hundreds of bitter comments here with the churches probably burning somebody at the stake, maybe an exorcism in red bay primary. Bunch of hypocrites .
Yes please add comment about catching a Cayman airway flight out of here if I don’t like it.
K thanks.
Seems you already know what to do. Byeeeeee
Maybe if you had attended Red Bay Primary your spelling and use of punctuation would be better, you grammatical buffoon.
why don’t you go and enrich some other country with your stupidity?
It isn’t so stop playing victim and live your best life.
Tired of posters like you trying to make everything about homos.
Is Bulgin going investigate whether this is equitable legal treatment between locals and expats? Or does that only apply when we investigate expats?
Not sure now is really the best time to pretend this is a thing, what with all the recent examples of locals being jailed for cannabis, while immigrants effectively smuggling small amounts through our airports are getting off with a small fine and no conviction recorded. But you do you, babylove.
Please give examples of a local first offender being jailed for importing or possessing small amounts of cannabis for personal consumption.
think i am going to talk to this judge about a piece of land on the reef for his hurricane proof home
Unless our Pilot’s last name is Dart, a $250,000 bail seems a good enough reason to come back to court.
Is it his money or someone else’s?
ha ha ha…good man!
Hehe local laws?
Literally a flight risk.
LOL
Is he Mormon or a sheikh?
Well, how many men have another family somewhere?
Bodden’s talents lie in screenwriting. You cannot make up shit like this!
Doubt he’ll return lol.
