Bryan attends another regional tourism conference

(CNS): Tourism minister, Kenneth Bryan is on the road again this time in Jamaica at the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) Marketplace in Montego Bay. A delegation of tourism officials and private sector partners has gone to the event where intra-Caribbean travel and air connection will be on the agenda just as Cayman Airways and Barbados Tourism drop the route between the two destinations.

Renowned as the Caribbean’s largest and most significant marketing event Bryan said the event provides a platform for collaboration and innovation and an opportunity to engage with industry leaders and stakeholders to chart the course for the region’s tourism sector.

“I am honoured to be part of this important dialogue and I look forward to contributing to discussions that are pivotal in determining the direction that the regional tourism industry will take moving forward,” he said.

Meanwhile before leaving, Bryan joined members of the beautification committee to unveil a new piece of artwork installed at the entrance to the carpark at the government office building on Elgin Avenue. The work depicts a map of Grand Cayman surrounded by blue coloured stones representing the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. It was cast from cement by Hartwell McField and painted by Carlos Garcia.

Bryan commended the Beautification Task Force for their sterling efforts to enhance the aesthetic appeal of our islands. “This beautifully crafted piece of art is a testament to the creativity and talent that exists locally, and it not only serves as a captivating landmark, but also reinforces our commitment to showcasing the natural beauty of the Cayman Islands,” he added.

10.27…North Sound offers 9ft of depth if you’re lucky.
Cruise ships need a LOT more, so Kenny will be adding massive dredging and destruction to his list of already stupid actions and behavior.
Kenny not very bright, that is clear, but even he is not that ignorant…or is he.?

We need to fix things here and stop going to play big Tourism Minister with our competitors.
Once the beach is gone and locals not working in Tourism, people will chose other destinations.Money is a coward in the face of adversity.

Be better off addressing the loss of the novelty here. Cheap shirts and trinkets made in faraway lands is noted by visitors daily.

The bumbling UPM government will go down as the the 2nd worse government right behind the disaster of a PACT government.

But at least they will hold the record for the most wasted public funds spent on travel. Let’s not forget the trip to Europe to look at a pool.

Another timely reminder that voters need to compel amendments to the Elections Law to disqualify those with criminal records from eligibility. They should not be handling our money, directing policy, binding the public to their secret deals, and self-approving jollies on the public’s dime.

The natural beauty of the Cayman Islands – reflected in a piece of painted concrete: sounds quite appropriate given what’s happening on Seven Mile.

I’m really disappointed with Kenneth as a tourism minister. Arrivals over nights etc. can be argued good and bad, I would like to see a updated report on nightly spend per guest, but for someone who has the background as he does- you would think he would be more of a fighter. He seems comfortable to fall in line for the future promised position. He was the hope an a beacon for a lot of us young men with blemished pasts. – you are young Kenneth stop playing to the old ppl- you go to all of these locations with the intention to do business but you don’t pay attention to the relaxed ganja laws in those locations. A BIG TOURISM WIN/game changer IS IN FRONT OF YOU AN YOU ONLY BRING IT UP WHEN ITS ELECTION

I wonder if Mr Bryan realises that meeting with our competitors to discuss boosting regional tourism business will simply result in more Barbados styled agreements that only serve to benefit our competitors and do literally nothing for our tourism numbers? We are competitors, Tourism is not something that we should be collaborating on and he knows nothing about running an airline so please do not allow him to “negotiate” any new routes and come back here insisting that CALs board justity them. If he does that I am resigning from the Board ASAP!
