(CNS): Derron Winston Watson, a senior officer at HMP Northward, appeared in Grand Court on Thursday and pleaded not guilty to one charge of misconduct in public office. Watson was allegedly found in possession of ganja during a joint operation by HM Cayman Islands Prison Service, the Department of Public Safety Communications and the RCIPS on 28 February. He is accused of smuggling it into the prison for one inmate. Watson, who was bailed to return for trial in September, has been placed on required leave.
