Fishing canoe taken from South Sound dock
(CNS) Updated Thursday: Police said that a boat which disappeared from South Sound dock at the weekend has been found and they are no longer investigating the suspected theft. Police also said the small boat was not a canoe as first stated but a South Sea type vessel.
Sorry that the boat got stolen, but why leave a boat at a public dock? Is that even allowed? Imagine if everyone who had a boat/canoe would just leave their boats tied up to one of the public docks…..
Protecting Our Borders the marine unit is a real joke I guess they mashed up the boats again i guess.
Well in their defense, the RCIPS command has placed severale huge obstacles in the way.
1) The MU commander has little to no experience. He isnt even qualified to run any of the boats. Never had any Marine training. In fact since 2000 the MU Commander has never had any MU training. They have only been passing through.
2) Most of the current MU officers, besides 3, have never been in a rough water rescue ie: Norwesters.
3) The only qualified engineer has been on suspension for traffic offenses for over 3yrs now. There is no qualified Chief Engineer to keep the vessels in working order.
4) The RCIPS has continually taken operation funding designated for the MU and used it for other areas of the RCIPS besides the MU and its staff.
Now knowing these four things, do you think the MU would be effective?
Honestly i think these guys do the best they can with the little they are given.
Honesty, well that’s great, but our borders still need protecting…so CIG has no excuse
Why wait till tuesday to share info ? Difficult to understand. Hope you find the boat.
Standard practise to ask the public to assist. What difference would it have made if the RCIPS had put out a press release over the weekend, the news services shutdown from 6pm on Friday. No news in Cayman at the weekend….
