Minister presents revamped lawyers law

Cayman News Service(CNS Business): After almost fifteen years and half a dozen attempts to pass the legislation, Financial Services Minister Wayne Panton has come up with a legal practitioners bill that has the support of the legal profession in Cayman and provides for the development and protection of local attorneys. Calling it an “immense improvement”, Panton said this latest draft bill, which will be debated in the LA in October, meets international compliance and represents a “defining moment” for Cayman after years of controversial dispute.
