Cayman News Service(CNS): A man who is suspected of having assaulted at least one women during an altercation after the Wet Fete party in George Town in the early hours of Saturday morning has been arrested and bailed, police said. The suspect was found by police and emergency services on Cardinal Avenue at around 3am Saturday (2 July) with cuts to his head and face. Police said that he was “highly intoxicated” when they found him and was taken to the Cayman Islands Hospital.

His injuries were minor, however, and he was released, but police learned he had been involved in a brawl with a small group of women at the party. During the altercation one of the women had suffered a dislocated shoulder, while the man sustained injuries to his head and face. The man was arrested for assault and is now on police bail pending further investigation by police.

Anyone with information is asked to call George Town Police Station at 949-4222.  Anonymous tips can be provided via the Miami-based call centre of Crime Stoppers at 800-8477(TIPS), or online here.

if they close the road they need to change the name to “Sweaty Sex Avenue” …just for the night….and also put a enter at your own risk sign up front. It’s like a Greek orgy in those Wet Fetes

You tye a dog up with a short leash for a long time and when you loose the dog, the animal behaves like he’s crazy!

So you have little entertainment for the young people on this island. The only place you have is Camana Bay, the clubs, and where they sell liquor! Children are bunkered down in their homes bored all year round. Hardly sport activities! We use to have a circus with rides come visit Cayman once a year! How do you expect young people to act on a one-time wet fete night??? Crazy!

    • Willis says:

Hardly any sport, how about rugby, aussie rules, cricket, swimming. tri-athalon, cycling, roller hockey, little league, diving, running, track & field, ten pin bowling, touch football etc etc etc.

      WHAT are you talking about

Add to that gymnastics, ballet, tennis, cooking events, playing family board games, hopscotch, marbles, kite flying . I am sure there are many more that I cannot think of now there are no shortage of activities for kids on this island- and there are lots of kids involved.

Isn’t Wet Fete a circus – full of animal acts and freak shows

Can anyone explain why they close the roads for this crap?

    • Anonymous says:

This while wet fete thing is a disgrace. The politicians who approve this crap should be ousted. Oh yeah, and let’s leave it open until 4 am. Because everyone needs to be out until 4 getting loaded and then driving . Every person who goes near a vehicle after these events should be stopped, searched, and Breathalized. Police should be positioned around all these events and stop vehicles acting unappropriate. These events are pointless. Maybe the politicians should spend the night riding around with police and EMS to see what goes on during and after. I bet they would change their stance. Trying to deal with these drunk, belligerent , and combative individuals is difficult , tiresome, and dangerous for our emergency responders. What people do OT understand is that once you are intoxicated and 911 has been called the emergency personnel have a Duty to Act. When under the influence and emergency responders are called we/they are OBLIGATED to determine someone’s mental state of well being. If someone is intoxicated, confused, not acting appropriate, combative, etc….a Emergency personnel are OBLIGATED TO TAKE YOU TO THE HOSPITAL. Whether you want to go or not under the Mental Health Law you are going to be evaluated. Come willingly or in handcuffs, You Lose the Choice once we are there. It’s the LAW. To avoid this from happening, act human, don’t be an ass, act human…..act human.

ACT LIKE A HUMAN, NOT AN ANIMAL. You shall be treated accordingly .

You took the words right out of my mouth!

How can you throw a private party (ticketed admission) on a god damn public street!? I paid my road tax and should have access to the roads in our banana republics capital! FFS!

    • Unison says:

Well … imagine you driving, see this wet pretty chick running across the road. Then you crank your window but someone wet you in your face! :/

And on top if that, the chick gets away!!!
