Victim critical after stabbing at GT bar

(CNS) UPDATED: One man is in a critical condition at the George Town hospital after receiving multiple stab wounds and a second man has now been charged with attempted murder. Police said that the victim was stabbed at the Dencle Bar on Mary Street at around 11pm on Thursday night. When officers responding to the 911 call arrived, they found that he had already been taken to hospital in a private car.

Police officers investigated throughout the night, which led them to a residential address in the early hours of Friday, where they arrested a 26-year-old George Town man on suspicion of attempted murder. He was charged over the weekend and is expected to appear in court Monday.

The victim remains in the hospital in a critical but stable condition.
