Suspect charged after 1000+ indecent images found

(CNS): A 25-year-old Jamaican man has been remanded in custody to HMP Northward after he appeared in court Monday charged with possessing thousands of pornographic images of children and distributing images online. Trevorne Daley was arrested following an enquiry triggered by the US authorities when he befriended a boy on Facebook last December and began messaging him via WhatsApp.
Following his arrest, his phones and lap tops were seized and the images were discovered. The work permit holder, who was working at Burger King, told police he was part of an online group that sent each other pornography.
Despite his attorney’s efforts to have the man bailed, the crown pushed hard to remand Daley in custody due to concerns that he did not have strong ties to this community and the seriousness of the charges.
Daley has not yet answered the ten charges against him, which include nine counts of possessing and one count of distributing the indecent images. He was remanded to appear in court again on 31 May.
