Burger King on Walkers Rd, George Town

(CNS): Police arrested a 21-year-old man from George Town on Friday on suspicion of robbery in connection with the incident outside the Burger King on Walker’s Road last week, where two men, both of whom had what appeared to be handguns, held up the male and female employee in the parking lot. The robbers attempted to use one of the victims to gain access to the restaurant, but when it was clear that they could not do so, they grabbed the female victim’s handbag and ran off.

The incident, which happened just after the victims finished work Wednesday, 11 May, was reported to the authorities around 11:45pm that night, police said.

No shots were fired and neither of the victims were physically harmed during the robbery.

Police are urging anyone who may have seen suspicious activity near the Burger King, along Academy Way or in the vicinity of UCCI around midnight Wednesday night/Thursday morning (11-12 May) to call George Town CID at 949-4222.
