Burger King, George Town, Grand Cayman

(CNS): Workers at the Burger King restaurant on the waterfront in George Town foiled an armed robber on Thursday night by locking themselves in an office. Police said that they received a report about the attempted hold-up at around 9:20pm on 10 March as the robbery was in progress at the fast food joint in North Church Street. It was reported that a man in dark clothing with his face covered entered the restaurant with a machete and demanded money from the staff.

But instead of handing over any cash, the staff ran to the back office, where they locked themselves in and called for help while the culprit ran off empty-handed.

Detectives are following up on this incident today and are asking for anyone who may have seen this person running from the building around 9:20pm to contact GTPS at 949-4222 or CrimeStoppers.

Perhaps the headline should be ‘staff foil take out for customer’.

  3. Big whopper says:

All “crew” members of a certain vessel accounted for during this attempted robbery?

Big whopper…you should have called yourself sick whopper or cold whopper or even idiot whopper. I would just called you demon whopper as surely you are a demom straight from hell to be so heartless. So many precious lives could be lost and there are families and friends
who are suffering right now and you have the heart to say something so cold and callous. Merciful father forgive this idiot for it knows not what it says.
