Cops recover casings following shots in GT

(CNS): Police recovered three spent shell casings from the scene of reported gun fire in the capital during the early hours of Monday morning. The RCIPS said that just after 2am on 8 February, scenes of crime officers who were called out after the gunshots were reported in the School House Road area of George Town found the casings and an investigation is now underway by George Town CID.

Detectives are asking that anyone who heard or saw anything around around that time to contact GTPS at 949-4222 or the Miami-based call centre of Crime Stoppers at 800-8477(TIPS).

Meanwhile, a 23-year-old man from West Bay who was arrested on Friday in relation to a firearms incident that occurred in Eastern Avenue, George Town, on 29 January has been charged. According to the report, the man threatened and assaulted at least one person while armed with a gun. The man has been charged with possession of an imitation firearm with intent, threats to kill and actual bodily harm. He was scheduled to appear in court Monday.
