(CNS): The police have found identification records in a canoe abandoned by drug smuggling suspects at the weekend in North Side. As detectives from the RCIPS Drugs and Serious Crime Task Force (DSCTF) continuing the search for four men they believe were aboard a drug canoe intercepted of the north coast of Grand Cayman Sunday evening, they have now released a picture found in the boat left on the beach at Sand Point Road of a man called Jade Brown.

Police said that Brown is around 42 years old and could be one of the men who landed illegally after officers intercepted a Jamaican type canoe in North Side Sunday night while on patrol.

The RCIPS is asking the public to exercise caution if they see Brown and notify the George Town Police Station at 949-4222 or Crime Stoppers at 800-8477(TIPS).

  2. Gray Matter says:

I drove out to North Side, “quiet” no squad cars , no Police or Police dogs , no hum of helicopter or drones. Maybe they will come to the lost and found department.

  3. Knot S Smart says:

Was the RCIPS officer who disclosed this information of the same nationality as the suspect? Seems strange that he/she (inadvertently forgot) the nationality of the suspect…

  4. Darwin says:

A “Jamaican canoe” has bobsled runners on the underside.

Hmmm.. It is interesting how nothing is said about the country that the “ID” is issued from; although those who know the background colors are not from here. I’m wiling to bet that if it was a local ID it would have been stated.

Just like how only when it is reportedly a “Caymanian accent” is it stated. Otherwise, mute perpetrators.

What is a jamaican type canoe? Was it painted in ites gold and green?

  7. Anonymous says:

Being Jamaican he probably has a license in the name of Ronald Brown, and another one in the name of Brandon White, but everybody is his village knows him by the name of “Tuggy”.

Why would you even take your photo ID when you’re off for a night’s smuggling? Let alone take it out and put it down in the bottom of the smuggling boat! Sheesh we have some dumb a** criminals. This might be literally the only way to get caught in Cayman. Mind you he’s still at large….

Uh, today is Thursday, this happened on Sunday. How long does it take to search a canoe?
