Woman badly burned in car fire
(CNS): A woman has burns on over 80% of her body after the car she was a passenger in burst into flames following an early morning crash near Seven Mile Public Beach Monday. The driver of the car received 20% burns to his body in the crash, which happened around 1:30 this morning (14 September). An RCIPS spokesperson said that when police arrived at the scene of the collision, they found the car ablaze and a man and woman on the ground near the burning vehicle, both with severe burns.
They were taken by ambulance to the Cayman Islands Hospital in George Town, where the woman is said to be in critical condition and the man is stable.
Police said the car, a black Audi, appeared to have been traveling on West Bay Road towards the district of West Bay, but as it reached the bend to the right at the Public Beach, it crashed into the curved wall and flipped on its roof. Police said the fuel line appears to have ruptured and ignited.
Police are appealing for witnesses. Anyone with information regarding this accident is asked to call George Town Police Station at 949-4222 or Crime Stoppers at 800-8477 (TIPS).

I didn’t realize there was a Shriner’s in Tampa- glad you pointed that out.
Just wondering if this accident would have happened if the West Bay Road was still as it was before the concessions were made to Dart
Speed kills. As the memorial a few hundred feet to the north should well remind you.
Just wondering if the Driver was sober, not speeding or paying proper attention if this would have happened. If he didn’t see a well lit curve in the road how would he see pedestrians. If you are able to flip an Audi at 25 MPH (the speed limit for that curve (but perhaps not the safest speed) and rupture the fuel line then you either never used you breaks or you were on ice.
Just wondering if you were born a douchebag or you received a Government scholarship to go overseas to train to become one?
Shriners Hospital in Tampa is closer…
Shriner’s Hospital in Boston is incredible for treating burns.
Once stable- hopefully she can be airlifted there.
