Courier accused of credit card con
(CNS) A courier has been charged with deception offences after he allegedly used his position to get credit card details from customers and then charged the cards for his own purchases, police said. Alejandro Matienzo Leon, (28) who resides in West Bay, was charged with obtaining property by deception today and was scheduled to appear in Summary Court Friday afternoon, 25 September.
A spokesperson for the RCIPS said that a police investigation in to the allegations revealed that the man had managed to obtain customers card details and used that information because of his job. The courier reportedly used the informaiton to buy a Cayman Airways ticket. He has since been suspended by his employer, who has not been disclosed.
Don’t worry, just have your husband, uncle, friend, pastor or wife pay the money back and you are off the hook……………
For your information 2:53pm there are some but not all stores in Cayman that do have Chip and Pin Terminals and clients that do have Chip and Pin Cards. Gather you facts straight before posting foolish comments.
If Cayman had chip and PIN like the rest of the developed world, that couldn’t have happened.

Doesn’t help if the stores that implement it don’t update their systems and still require you to hand over your card so they can manually enter the number into their outdated 1980’s computer systems.

The banks are responsible for updating their Card stations at all client locations. Also, it does not matter what type of sales system the businesses use, as charges that are swiped through the card machines go straight to the connected account. Input into the business sales systems are only for business records, has nothing to do with the card machines. It is better to be quiet and thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. Idiot.

It is not the card numbers that are entered into sales systems, it is the transaction approval numbers.

Came from West Bay, do not make anyone a Westbayer. West Bay District includes the Governors House all the way across to the North Sound including the gulf course continuing North from sea to sea. If someone fall off a bicycle by Kentucky Fried Chicken in George Town, the name West Bay is mentioned as West Bay road. Consider this, if something happens in George Town rarely is the name mentioned, normally it is so and so happened on Dump Road!!, just saying.
