Cayman courts, Grand Cayman

(CNS): A local woman will be defending herself once a trial date is set next year after she pleaded not guilty to charges of damage to property in connection with what is understood to be an ex-partner’s car. Ava Glasgow is accused of committing over $7,000 worth of damage to the Honda Accord vehicle in an incident in Bodden Town in April this year. The court heard that Glasgow, who denies the allegations, was unable to get legal aid for the case as the charge is not a scheduled offence. Unable to afford a lawyer, she told the court that she will represent herself.
