West Bay rape suspect claims innocence

(CNS): Andre Chase (22) from West Bay has denied the rape of a woman and an aggravated burglary in connection with a violent home invasion last month. Arraigned via video-link between HMP Northward and the courthouse Friday morning, Chase was emphatic as he pleaded not guilty to bursting into the woman’s home in the Town Hall Road area of the district, raping her at knife point and stealing her wallet on the night of 23 July. After Chase protested his innocence he was remanded in custody until trial, which has been sent for 8 December.
