Teen arrested over school bus gun
(CNS) The police have now confirmed that a 15-year-old student from John Gray High school has been arrested in connection with the possession of an imitation firearm on a school bus and is currently on police bail. Education ministry officials had told CNS last week that an “incident” had led to a police investigation, though Acting Chief Officer Christen Suckoo would not confirm that it was a in connection with what was believed to be a gun.
Following enquiries last week by CNS, the police confirmed they were looking into allegations regarding the possibility of a firearm on the bus and on Sunday a spokesperson said the student concerned was arrested Friday 22 May for possession of an imitation firearm, believed to be a toy gun, which had been seized. Police said the student had been released on police bail while the investigation continues.
