Pop a Top liquor store, West Bay

(CNS): The police have arrested a 20-year-old Jamaican man on suspicion of attempted murder in connection to the shooting incident on Powell Smith Road, West Bay, on Monday 5 January. A 22-year-old male resident of West Bay received a gunshot wound to his wrist outside ‘Pop a Top’ Liquor Store at around 9:15pm and was rushed to the hospital by emergency services.. The suspected shooter, who also lives in West Bay, was arrested on Friday 9 January and remains in custody while inquiries continue.

The shooting followed the murder of Victor Oliver Yates, who was shot in the head sometime early Saturday morning 3 January outside Super C’s. Police have now confirmed that they believe the incidents are linked and gang-related.
