(CNS): Smokers battling to give up cigarettes are being given assistance by the Public Health Department with a new series of stop-smoking classes starting next month. There are still a few places left on the free course, officials said. Classes start on 4 February at 5:15pm and last until 6:45pm every Wednesday evening for 7 weeks in the Public Health Waiting Room. The registration deadline is this Friday, so those looking for help and support to quit their nicotine addiction and transform their lives can contact the Public Health Department on 244-2889/244-2648, or email sarah.hetley@hsa.ky

About 13 years ago I attended a quit smoking clinic held by the Cancer Society. I have not had a smoke since. Quitting is not easy and having help can make a world of difference. If anyone is considering this class I say go for it! All you have to gain is your health there is no down side.
