Fire crews arrive at the GOAB after reports of a small fire inside

(CNS) Update: Officials say the cause of a small fire at the Government Office Administration Building (GOAB) on Elgin Avenue this morning was an electrical “arc” on one of the Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) units that support CIG’s information technology infrastructure within the building. There were no casualties or injuries during the emergency evacuation. The Fire Service responded with two rescue trucks and three tankers, and was on the scene in around three minutes. Fire crews remained until the all clear was given just before 1.00pm.

Once the fire was contained, fire officers tested carbon dioxide levels around the building before clearing worker re-entry, according to an official release.

A clear illustration why it has been foolhardy and too much risk to concentrate all of Government in one building. Dey mus want all of government to shut down.

The story says that the fire occurred in a UPS unit ,something that is not part of the planning inspection process.
