George Town man critical following boat fire

(CNS): A 46-year-old man is being airlifted to the United States suffering from severe burns to his arms and legs following a flash fire on a boat Saturday. Police said that the George Town man was doing repair work on the 40-foot pontoon boat at the Reef Dock, North Church Street, yesterday morning at around 8:40 when a flash fire ignited on the boat.

The man sustain severe burns and was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital in George Town in a critical but stable condition. He is now being prepared to received medical treatment in US. No one else was physically injured and the boat was not damaged, police said. The matter is now under investigation by the Marine Unit.

    Don’t know the man but our prayers are for a quik recovery cause if one lil burn on my arm from rack iin oven ca or a hot lid can hurt like hell I can only imagine 3rd degrees. Praying you’ll still be able to continue in your work; that you’ll not be financially strapped during recovery; and especially that our recovery isn’t too painful. May God be with you
