Home invaders tied up victims
(CNS): Three armed and masked men tied up a man and a woman during a violent burglary in the early hours of Wednesday morning at a home in Bodden Town, police have said. The couple, who both received minor injuries, said that the men entered their home armed with knives, bound them and then made off with stolen jewellery and cash. The disturbing home invasion took place around 1:00am on 27 January at the victims’ house in the Northward area of the district.
The robbers were described by the couple as being around 5’8″ to 5’9” and of medium build. They were wearing dark clothing and masks and spoke with Jamaican accents.
Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Bodden Town Police Station at 9472220 or the Miami-based call centre of Crime Stoppers at 800-8477 (TIPS).
Maybe if the government help more people find jobs these things wouldn’t happen don’t get me wrong I do not agree with the robbers because those people have to work hard for their money as well. Us caymanians need to come together as one and stop fighting against one another it’s time to realize that the government is not helping us the only time they want to help or even come around is when they want our vote .
Why do you think Government owes you a living? We live in a free market capitalist society. If you want socialism, go give Cuba a try. If not, try so look in the mirror for solutions to your problems. I’m sick and tired of everyone blaming Government for everything under the sun. Get a life.
Never, ever will I justify such crime and hopefully these scumbags will be caught and successfully prosecuted. However, the context of this crime may have some explanation as to its occurrence. Allegations have surfaced that the couple who were attacked are known to sell numbers.
My point being, as bad as such a crime is and certainly there is no excuse for home invasions, perhaps it was not random but instead specifically targeted.
a robbery will be a robbery!
We have to get the spotlight operational again. In times like this, we need a hero, a symbol of justice. We need the batman.
Not the Baines Man then
lets see how superman vs batman turns out first…..
Despite who the victims are or what they do for a living, those 3 masked men or going to invade the wrong house one of these days, only this time it wont be what they were looking for.
Yes our “honorable” politicians like Eden are only up in arms when it comes to denying another human being their right to be loved and love and marry who they choose. But when it comes to men raping children while pretending to fix an a/c unit, Jamaican criminals, that immigration let in, rob and terrorize our law abiding citizens, the rich destroying our reefs with their expensive toys, drunk driving even by some “honorable” politicians, incompetent police officers and leaders, a corrupt and incompetent immigration dept and system and the list goes on there is total silence. SMH
For crying out loud what does minster Eden has to do with this? Actually if you had more politicians like him that make laws to protect the law abiding citizens then we wouldn’t have these spineless punks breaking into people homes and holding them at ransoms! We need more politicians with principles and balls just like minister Eden.
The point made was that Mr Eden’s focus ought to be toward solving and dealing with crime instead of what consenting adults do in the privacy of their bedroom.
What we need is some ANGER from all politicians including Mac, that the country’s immigrants are abusing our hospitality…Jamaican accents are not something Caymanians need to imitate.
5:19 this is not about the privacy of your bedroom!
2:33 that is because there is no change of the law
Get Ozzie to put the cow cod to ’em.
It would be good to know how the burglars entered the home. Did they knock on the door then forced their way in or did they gain entry by breaking a window/door etc? NEVER unlock your door for anyone until you are sure that you know who is at your door… especially that time of the morning.
Hope these home owners will recover from their injuries but I am sure that emotionally it will carry a much deeper scar unfortunately. And for the burglars…may you be swiftly caught and prosecuted to the FULLEST extent of the law! NO MERCY!
9:32 am , the reasons why is because same sex marriage effects their inability to govern,, but crime is not effecting them. Have you ever hear of a politician or police ever been robbed ? But crime do help their other friends in the camp , when the crimal get caught he then needs a lawyer.
the perps are west indians….
Not surprising given that the armed criminals know we are not allowed to protect ourselves in our own homes. The scumbags are not afraid knowing they will not be facing the business end of a 12 gauge shotgun.
But isn’t crime down?
Interesting how the politicians are eager to comment on same gender marriage, yet nobody has any opinion over the whole Island being held hostage by criminals.
Maybe some are in the closet?
northward?…strange story….why not home invade in a maore upscale locality?
Maybe because more upscale means more security, better locks, alarms etc.
9:24 what make you think Northward don’t have rich people.
The injuries to these people minds are NOT minor.
7:14 – had a grey moment with the comment I just posted. I meant an apostrophe not a hyphen – but then you probably don’t know the difference between the two.
We seem to have some extremely violent persons living amongst us. Why is it so difficult for us to identify them on a piece of 12 X 26 mile rock? What the heck is going on here?
Everybody knows nobody tells, that is why.
Jamaican accents you say? Now by CNS logic that makes them likely to be Caymanian criminals, because the Jamaicans put on Caymanian accents during a crime to throw off the scent. So either the Caymanians are putting on Jamaican accents or the Jamaicans are now putting on the accent of a Caymanian doing a Jamaican accent but doing it too effectively so the victims think they are hearing a plain old Jamaican accent. This is all so so tricky.
Easy solution is to keep dogs inside your house.
Don’t just have an ‘outside’ dog then tie it up.
For God sake ,what is happening in Cayman the crime has gotten so much out of hand that we have to call the Miami crime stopper hot line, read the last paragraph of the article.
Our Crime Stopper line is based out of Miami so that is you call in on someone there is less chance his friend or family member is answering the phone. Islands are too small…This is why evidence gets “lost” and hardly anyone one ever gets convicted.
Not good…not good at all.
I hope they catch the bastards, Public floggings would be nice.
Cow-itch their backside. Everyone will know them.
Hanging, drawing and quartering would be too good for these low-life bastards.
Public hanging would also go a long way
They took stolen jewelry?
Sweet Jam Down.
Everyone speaks with a Jamaican accent these days, because it is cute, right bredda.
Anybody can talk in any accent they want to. So stop talk about accent. This one speak in this accent and that one speak in that accent.
Immigration?
