No deal Brexit looms as May cancels vote
(CNS): British Prime Minister Theresa May has cancelled a proposed third vote on her European Union withdrawal deal, which was expected to go before the House of Commons Tuesday, after she conceded it still does not have enough support from members. But despite its continued unpopularity among politicians on all sides of the political and Brexit divide in the UK, May has not yet given up and will continue trying to get MPs to back it. She has also dismissed the idea that plans for a list of indicative or alternative votes could solve the current impasse.
As May addressed parliament about what is increasingly likely to be a messy departure from the European Union for Britain unless it reverses Article 50 or seeks a much longer delay or even a second referendum, EU leaders said they were readying for a ‘no deal’ Brexit.
May said the EU had made it clear that there can be no re-opening of the negotiations on the deal already agreed on, as she set out the current situation which will see the UK either crash out of Europe on 12 April or go back to the EU to seek a much longer extension.
The UK leader is directing her Conservative Party members not to support an effort by backbench MPs to hold votes on alternatives to her plan. There are also plans for indicative votes aiming to reveal where the majority in Parliament lies regarding Brexit, other than the desire to avoid a no deal departure.
The PM has said parliamentary time will be given to holding the votes this week but she will not commit to delivering on the outcome of the votes.
“The votes could lead to an outcome that is un-negotiable with the EU,” she said in the House of Commons Monday. “No government could give a blank cheque to commit to an outcome without knowing what it is.”
The prime minister said that if her deal is not accepted, Britain was either leaving the EU next month without a deal or it would mean pursuing “a different form of Brexit or a second referendum”.

Really don’t think you can blame the Russians for this.
No deal does not loom. It has been clearly taken off the table by the majority of sane MPs. Only the almost exclusively pale, stale, male, lunatic fringe of the ERG want it and they are turning on each other this evening in a delightfully hilarious dance of defeat.
i guess May soon be living in Cayman cause dey na ga want her in UK no more hahahahaha
May is pandering to the extremists of the party and trying to force through a Brexit only wanted by a minority of the current electorate.
Petition to revoke Article 50 is up to almost 6mln now.

Maybe it’s time for the PM to finally acknowledge the public and fellow MPs, months in retrospect, and what everyone else on the Planet already knows: that the Referendum’s pre and post social media influence was heavily-tampered with, successfully targeting sway-votes with mis-information and “false facts”, now linked directly to geopolitical adversaries keen to destabilize the West. She is the PM, yet behaves as though she doesn’t understand the magnitude of the subsequent revelation in regards to a 51:48% vote split.
“When the facts change, I change my mind – what do you do, sir?” ― John Maynard Keynes
But the a) the Little Englanders are so bloody minded and b) they have consistently ignored facts as the basis for their stupidity.
And the greatest Little Englander of all, Boris Johnson, is about to become PM while having ZERO / ZERO ideas on how to get the UK out of the mess he led the country into. What a total cock up Boris has largely helped to create.
