Primary school battles air conditioning problems

| 16/09/2015 | 5 Comments

Cayman News Service(CNS): Students at Prospect Primary have been sweating through their first week at school after the air-condition system went on the blink last Wednesday. When the system was finally repaired yesterday evening, the school’s PTA extended its thanks to parents and pupils for their patience.  The problem was caused by a leak, which engineers had expected to finish by Thursday, however it took considerably longer and the school management resorted to fans to keep kids cool.

The issues come in the wake of an outbreak of sickness in the first week of school at Red Bay Primary, where more than 100 teachers and students were taken ill, the cause of which remains a mystery.

Seriously?! This is what makes headlines?? So what if they didn’t have a/c?? We didn’t have that luxury growing up, and it sure as heck didn’t kill is either. Maybe the Education authorities should focus less on pampering the children and more on teaching them!!

BOOO hOOOO we didn’t have AC or hot lunches or busses and it did not kill us
crying babies cant survive I am surprised the schools were not closed for this

Old Skool Prospect was the only primary school through out the hold Cayman Islands that had a good report. Maybe someone deliberately shut down the AC. Prospect is an example school which is attributed to a great principal Ms. Gloria Bell plus involved parents and PTA.

We can all take a page from their book. My kids go there so I know what I speak of.

This continued pampering of the children is part of the problem. Take the A/C back out of the schools and lets get down to business!
