Thieves make off with another Yamaha motorbike

Cayman News Service(CNS): Police are searching for another stolen motorbike, the second in less than a week. Just after 9:00pm on Tuesday, 13 December, a red Yamaha TBR motorcycle (similar to the one pictured left) was parked just outside the Casa 43 Mexican restaurant located in Canal Point, George Town, police said. A few minutes later it was discovered missing by its owner. The bike’s licence plate number is 165 441.

This motorbike theft follows one on Thursday, 8 December, when another Yamaha, which has still not been recovered, was taken from the Marquee Plaza, George Town.

The owner of that bike parked the motorcycle behind Craft Restaurant off the West Bay Road at around 7:45pm but it was missing when he returned at about 10pm. The registration number is 165-405.

Police said owners of motorbikes should not only lock their vehicles but secure them to a post or some other stationary object for added anti-theft protection.

Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to call George Town Police Station at 949-4222.

Anonymous tips can be provided directly to the RCIPS via the Confidential Tip Line at 949-7777 or via the Miami-based call centre of Crime Stoppers at 800-8477(TIPS), or online here.

“but secure them to a post or some other stationary object” – yeah makes sense, I’ll just stick my 20 pound reinforced steel link chain and lock next to my air conditioning and power windows >_>

It is probably loaded onto one of those boats that has been stolen and is hidden in the mangroves somewhere cause the tools and other bike stolen hasn’t quite filled the boat yet.

The courts are too leńient of the scum bags. Worse when the victims catch up on the intruders, and the police arrest the victim. How can one defend him/herself?

      How is that container doing?

Hey! RCIP! Plant some effing bait bikes, phones, cameras, laptops, bicycles and cars and clean these scum out of our community once and for all. You are becoming an ever increasing joke.

Are you kidding me? The RCIP can’t keep track of their own impounded bikes much less catch these stolen.

I think half the cops are dirty anyway; crap salary, opportunity knocks frequently here….can’t resist temptation.
