(CNS): The RCIPS stated that three police units and fire crews responded to a report of threats being made by an individual at the Cayman Islands Further Education Centre Wednesday at around 8:30am. In an update, police said it was a student on campus who made the threats but they did not say what the threats were. A thorough search was conducted by police and the fire service, the RCIPS stated, and no devices or harmful materials were found.

Police are continuing to conduct enquiries but said no arrest has been made.

By lunch time, the threat had been contained and campus activity was back to normal, police said. CIFEC is located at the old George Hicks School Campus in George Town.
