Police charge four suspects over break-ins

Cayman News Service(CNS): Three men and one woman were charged with a variety of dishonesty offences over the last few days after police rounded up suspects in relation to several separate crimes committed in West Bay, George Town and Spotts. A 19-year-old from West Bay was remanded in custody Friday after appearing in Summary Court charged with burglary, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct over a break-in that happened back in September on Fountain Road in the district. Another West Bay man, aged 36, was also charged with burglary and resisting arrest in connection with a South Church Street burglary on New Year’s Day where jewellery and other items were stolen.

Meanwhile, a 21-year-old man from George Town is facing a list of charges in connection with a car break-in on New Year’s Eve in Spotts Beach where personal items were stolen. The suspected thief has been charged with damage to property, theft, attempting to obtain property by deception and three counts of obtaining property by deception. He was accused of using a bank card stolen in the car break-in to purchase various items dishonestly.

A 19-year-old woman from George Town has been charged with handling stolen goods in relation to the same matter.

The suspect in the South Church Street burglary and the couple believed to be involved in the car break-in were all scheduled to appear in court Monday.
