(CNS): Officers investigating the murder of Justin Manderson have charged one man and two women with guns and drugs offences following a raid in Prospect Friday but no one has yet been charged with his murder. One 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of killing Manderson when police raided an apartment at Lantern Point in the early morning hours of 14 October and also found two guns in a car. Officers found cocaine, ganja and drug utensils at the condo, as well as 11 rounds of ammunition.

In the wake of the police operation a 19-year-old girl and a 20-year-old woman, who were also said to be occupying the apartment, were arrested and have since been charged for the drugs and ammunition recovered during the raid in the apartment. Meanwhile, during the search of the 24-year-old man’s car, along with the two firearms, police found another larger quantity of cocaine.

Police said that the two women and the man were all charged on Sunday, 16 October, and remain in police custody ahead of a scheduled Summary Court appearance on Monday morning.

Although the 24-year-old man, who has not yet been named, was arrested on suspicion of killing Manderson, he has not been charged with his murder.

He is, however, charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm, ammunition and cocaine with intent to supply. The 20-year-old woman is facing charges of possession of ammunition, cocaine, ganja and drug utensils, while the 19-year-old girl was also charged with possession of ammunition, cocaine, ganja and drug utensils.

This is the second raid conducted by police in connection with the Manderson murder, which happened by Seven Mile Shops just over two weeks ago in the early morning hours of 1 October. Two men arrested in the wake of the killing were bailed last week but they were also arrested on suspicion of drugs and ammunition charges along with two other people also arrested on drugs and ammunition charges including one woman.

Police have not said where that operation took place or whether any of the three individuals charged Sunday were the same individuals.
