Cayman News Service(CNS): Police arrested four people last week during a proactive traffic operation in Bodden Town that turned up more than just speeding drivers using their phones behind the wheel. During the road block last Thursday afternoon, a black Mitsubishi, which attempted to avoid the police, was pursued and stopped. Besides an expired inspection certificate and registration, a Taser was found in the car. The police said the illegal weapon was not a police issued model and the 27-year-old George Town man was arrested for various offences before being bailed.

During the same traffic operation police also stopped a black Jetta which was being driven by an unlicensed 53-year-old George Town man, who was arrested for traffic offences. But passengers in the car were behaving in a suspicious and aggressive manner, and after one of them fled on foot, the police followed up on them.

The 35-year-old man from George Town who ran off and a female passenger (24) from Bodden Town were both then arrested on Friday, 24 June, on suspicion of assaulting police and obstructing police but the couple has been bailed.
