Back doctor arrested over secret pictures

(CNS): A chiropractor based at a George Town medical centre has been arrested as a result of allegations that he secretly took pictures of at least two of his female patients. Police did not release the 47-year-old doctor’s name but CNS has learned that he is a licensed chiropractor working out of a centre in Pasadora Place. He was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of misconduct or causing alarm, harassment or distress to a patient at a local medical practice.

The arrest followed a complaint by a female patient who suspected he had taken unauthorised photos of her during her treatment. Police said that an investigation into the complaint uncovered pictures of another woman or women who appear to be patients and do not appear to be aware that a photograph is being taken.

The doctor is now on police bail but the Council of Professions Allied with Medicine (CPAM), which regulates the chiropractic profession in the Cayman Islands, has been notified of the case.

CNS contacted the doctor in question for comment Wednesday but we were told he was with a patient and so far there has been no response to our enquiries.
