Boy charged with grocery store stick-ups
(CNS): A teenage boy from West Bay has been charged with armed robbery, police said. He was expected to appear in court Monday to answer charges regarding two hold-ups at a local grocery store in the district. The juvenile was arrested last Thursday, April 28, and charged Saturday with the robberies at Eddie’s Minimart No2 on Birch Tree Hill Road in West Bay on 19 March and 21 April. Police said the young suspect was arrested after officers spotted stolen property from the stick-ups while conducting an investigation into a separate matter.
The police have confirmed that the boy is not facing firearms charges, even though at the time of the robberies witnesses to both hold-ups indicated that the perpetrator was armed with what looked like a handgun.
